Please note that the state of Mississippi currently does not license or
regulate non-nurse midwives. Midwives specializing in out-of-hospital care operate without state licensure or government regulation.
Consequently, any individual, irrespective of their experience or training, is legally permitted to offer midwifery services.

As a consumer, it is your responsibility to verify the education, skills, and experience of any midwife you consider hiring.
